Temporarily back in action
Whew. Well, finally got internet back after moving to a new apartment, finally have a moment to go through my Po Foo stuff and post some new recipes. Enjoy.
Homemade soda
Sweetened Kool-aid (the kind that comes in a plastic tub)
Club Soda
Mix the kool-aid into the club soda as per directed on the tub, Enjoy.
Note- Club soda can dehydrate some people easily, you'll know when your head starts to hurt (similar to a mild hangover).
or
Sweetened Kool-aid
Brioschi (an effervecent antacid, so do NOT drink more than the intended amount [two
capfuls, or about 2 tablespoons])
Prepare Kool-aid as per directed in a glass of water, drop a couple pieces of Brioschi into the mix. The only problem with this recipe is sometimes it creates a lot of sediment on the bottom of the glass. Once again, since Brioschi is an antacid, drink in moderation!! Certainly makes taking it easier if you don't like the taste.
Fried Peanut Butter Sandwich
Peanut Butter
Bread
Butter
Spread peanut butter on the bread, edge to edge (till you can no longer see the white of the
bread). Do this on only one side of the sandwich, to avoid too much meltage. Put the other piece of bread over the PB-ed one. Put a frying pan on the stove over low heat, throw down a dollop of butter into the pan, spreading it around till melted. Gently place the sandwich into the pan, scoot it around a little so it sops up the melted butter. Check the bottom for it to turn a golden brown, scoop it up with a turner, reapply the butter, and place uncooked side down. Repeat cooking instruction. When complete, remove from heat, cut in half (optional) and eat. Best with milk. The flavor is salty (from the butter) on the outside yet wonderfully sweet (from the peanut butter) on the inside. This is also good when you replace the PB with Nutella, the chocolate hazelnut spread. Also try PB with Marshmallow Fluff or jelly.
Fiesta Hash
4 potatoes
1 can of corn
1/2 can of SPAM
Grease a large pan. Cube and precook potatoes. Cube cut SPAM and mix with potatoes. Put corn in the pan with the the SPAM and spuds (DO NOT DRAIN CORN!!!) Sprinkle mixture with salt and pepper as desired. Heat on medium, add more water if the corn starts to brown and the juices have cooked off. Cover and simmer for 7-10 minutes on low until potatoes soften. Stir periodically. Eat as is, or top with salsa, sour cream, or cheese.
